Nestled on Exhibition Way within Glasgow’s Scottish Event Campus, the OVO Hydro is a world-class multi-purpose arena that opened on 30 September 2013 with a concert by Rod Stewart. Built at a cost of approximately £125 million, it replaced plans for Scotland’s National Arena and was initially known as The SSE Hydro before adopting its current name under a sponsorship deal with OVO Energy in October 2021. With a maximum capacity of 14,300 (12,306 seated), the Hydro hosts over 140 events annually and welcomes more than one million visitors each year. Its roster spans chart-topping music superstars Ed Sheeran, Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, major sporting spectacles, UFC Fight Night, Premier League Darts, and prestigious ceremonies, MTV Europe Music Awards 2014, BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2019.
